Michael grew up in El Segundo, CA – a small, quiet beach town by LAX. At an early age, he had an interest in television, film, music, and cars. He graduated from El Segundo High School (a popular filming location seen in films, television shows, and commercials) and continued his studies at Santa Monica College studying music. During college, he started working part-time for the City of El Segundo at ESTV – the local community cable television station. Here, he started learning about cameras and became a cameraman. However, once he started learning about storytelling and editing, he knew a change was about to happen. Once he transferred to California State University Northridge, he changed majors and went from Music to Television and Film Production. During his senior thesis project, he won Best Documentary for Mobile Lunch Box.
Michael’s career began at Bunim/Murray Productions as a logger, where he quickly moved up to an Assistant Editor and worked on television shows, such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Real World, and The Challenge. Since then, he has had the privilege of freelancing for companies such as Pilgrim Media Group, Kinetic Content, all3media, A. Smith & Co., ThinkFactory, and Renegade as an Assistant Editor and Editor.
When he’s not busy working on various television shows, Michael enjoys playing the guitar, going to car shows, and just cruising in his Ford Mustang.
